Day 80 Chakras

Hiroshi Motoyama gave us the first scientific evidence of chakras when he placed an electromyograph on the body's chakra locations and detected regular high frequency signals coming from the chakra points. He then created a device to measure photon emission and again measured the chakras to find that chakras emit photons and the more "awakened" a chakra is, the more photons it emits. Motoyama also found that by concentrating the mind on a certain chakra one can dramatically increase the  level of photons being emitted. Chakras are transducers of higher dimensional energies and can be measured in a physical way.
According to William Collinge, chakras spin in 2 ways simultaneously, both clockwise and counterclockwise. It is hard for us to see two whirlpools of water spinning in opposite directions in the same place at the same time but that is how William sees it.
According to Hector Ramos there should be a balance between these two spinning actions. The clockwise direction is the chakra receiving energy and the counter clockwise is the chakra emitting energy. Various factors set our charkas off balance, either giving out too much energy or recewiving too much energy, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual factors.
There are also some who call this imbalance an opening or closing  of the chakra such as open minded, close minded, open hearted, closed hearted, so if a chakra is imbalanced, some call that chakra closed. I don't like the term closed or open because they don't really close or open but rather spin off kilter.
Some schools teach that you open a chakra when you use it to give and you close it when you are done giving, but I do not resonate with this teaching. To each his own. Since it is believed that a chakra is an oscillator with its own frequency , a sound frequency can be used to balance each chakra using the scientific concept of sympathetic vibration which means that if you listen to or intone the the note or vibration a chakra would emit when in balance you can raise your own chakra to vibrate at the frequency. Ohm is considered the the original sound of the unfolding universe. If you spend just a few minutes intoning the word ohm or aum in any note on the scale you will feel your chakras lining up with that chant to some degree. The Schuman Response is a vibration of frequency found to promote balance and healing in everyone. You might want to do a study in this.
The study of chakras is a long one and not necessarily considered important in many Shamanic communities only because they had no conception of internal electromagnetic energy systems. Science has taken North America a long way in the study of the body's energy. Yet Shamans all over the world did recognize the necessity of balance in the 7 body system. They all teach that balance is imperative for you to live a life without being a weeble that constantly wobbles.

Day 57 Betrayal

In every person’s life as a child, there comes  a day when we discover that our parents lied to us. It is usually not a very big lie, but these parents who we trusted completely and believed every single thing they said and did and we even attempted to imitate them thinking that they knew what they were doing and were experts on how to live life in the best possible way, we catch them in a lie. It might be simply that there is no Santa Claus, it might be that we see them doing some act of selfishness at our expense. It might be one of those do as I say not as I do events. It might be overhearing our parents talking trash about us in the heat of an argument saying things they don’t really mean. But in every child’s life there comes a moment when that child realizes that her parents have lied to her. And this feels like the ultimate betrayal. It is usually the first time we are betrayed by anyone we truly loved.
So it depends on how that child handles that betrayal that can color their whole life experience. Most of us suddenly realize that our parents are not gods. We may realize that our parents are struggling and suffering and not having a very good time here after all. We may realize that our parents do not know everything after all and so we change how we see them and they become human beings instead of gods and we learn to rely on our own selves from that point on. This is that moment in a young teen’s life when she stops confiding in her parents, when she starts making her own decisions, when she would rather choose for herself than rely on her now human parents to make choices for her anymore. This is normal and healthy.
But there are some kids who are so traumatized by the idea that their parents would actually lie to them,  that they never got over it. They feel such a sense of betrayal that they cannot forgive their parents for being human. It becomes blown out of proportion in the child’s mind and there is no one around to seek counseling from, to explain this betrayal is just a human being- being human.
And, instead of going through what most of us go through and learning at this time of childhood that it is better to make our own way than to rely on other humans to do it for us, this person has not recovered from this natural point in every child’s life when they catch the ones they trust doing untrustworthy things. She did not reach that decision to create her own life the best she could and instead just rejected her parents as defective and she is still thinking that there are gods in the world who can run her life for her and not betray her. So time and time again she trusts in someone and makes them the parent god for her life and tine and time again they betray her. It is a broken record.
What she needs to do is take responsibility for her own life, just like that teenage girl who decided it is better to make her own decisions for her own life, no matter how bad or mistaken they may be, rather than to let any other human being run her life for her. We learn by experience how to make better and better choices as we go along. But this person has not even picked up the baton and tried to make her own choices. She has spent her life looking for someone else to make her choices for her. I would encourage her to stand in her power now and begin to create her own life for herself rather than looking for another parent figure god. There are no gods in this world. There is no one else here who would know how to live her life in the best way. Only she can determine that and create that for herself.

Day 49 Healed But Not Well

We create a defense system around us to block out or control the pain and struggle, the negative stuff, the disability, the demon possessing us whatever the issue is. But when we are healed through Shamanic means we still have that shield around us that prevents anything from changing in our mental emotional and physical bodies. That defense system, that "don't anything change" motion detector alarm system is still in place because you created it and intended it yourself. Until you can begin to turn off the motion alarm and allow the motion of the healing to be recognized, to be felt as a good motion, your alarm system will remain on because you trained yourself for years how to have this alarm system, this defense mechanism, and how to have it on all the time. How is the healing supposed to get through to where you can be aware of it when you have trained yourself into such a defensive posture?

It’s the guy who breaks his leg and gets a cast and has to limp to work every day for 6 weeks and when he gets the cast off he still limps to work every day for the rest of his life. Does he have to? No. Why does he? Because he has trained himself to limp. It is his free will choice. Can he decide not to limp anymore? Yes, will it take some conscious effort to remember not to limp for a while? Yes.

Day 41 What Causes Addictions?

I will give you what I find the answer this through working with people with addictions. We choose addictions because we are being controlled by outside forces and feel that we are no longer fully within our power. We want to be in control of ourselves. When we fully feel we are within our own power, we can live without addictions. But when we feel controlled by someone else, be that a spouse, a boss, a life situation, a norm given to us by society, well, from any place, we choose to smoke or drink or some other behavior that we do control, or at least feel we control. It is a bad way for us to regain some control over our own lives. No one is going to tell you that you can't have some coffee. You have freedom in coffee, you use it whenever you decide to use it, you have freedom of control over your coffee use, it is something you decide to do for yourself.
This might be a hard concept to grasp because it is quite hidden and we don’t like to look at control issues at all. And it seems like an addiction is not something you are controlling, and certainly not a good way to regain control over your own life. But that is what an addiction is. Sometimes as with alcohol, it is to escape from that outside control, to take control of yourself by drinking and hiding out from the control of others. It does not matter if one is really under the control of some outside force or not. It only matters if one feels as though he or she is under the control of some outside force.
Some people willingly give control away. They are not troubled by it. But some people feel robbed of themselves when under the control of outside forces. Their attempt to regain some kind of control over their own lives is to begin a habit that they fully control, often an addictive habit.
So are these people just an addictive personality type? I don't think so. These people are just more sensitive to their own sense of freedom and choose not to be controlled by outside forces. Yet they are controlled. How to break the habit? Find out what is controlling you and get away from it.

Day 36 A student asked me the other day “So why am i tired so much, then? “

You are tired so much for 3 reasons.
1.    1.  Your life is too full of things to do each day. You try to pack more stuff into your to do list than you are capable of doing. Know your limitations and throw out some of the stuff on your to do list. Simplify your life and make sure to create some room for spiritual work and spiritual growth each day. This lifetime is a really short hiccup in the length of your eternal life. Don’t forget that you are an eternal spiritual being having a physical life experience. This life experience is just a vacation for that non manifest self that you will always be so lets make this little vacation a benefit to your eternal self.
2.     You give your energy, your life force, your chi away too easily. You think you are benefitting others by giving them the very life force that Creator gave you to be able to live out a long healthy life here. You are killing yourself by giving away the chi that you need to live on. Everybody was given enough chi to live on. You do not need to give people your chi.
3.     You do not receive fully from Creator. You only let in a little of Creator’s love and Light and blessings and nourishment and then you cut your Source off.
Now you know why you are tired. What are you going to do about it. Answer me that at shaman@shamanelder.com

Day 34 What Makes Someone a Healer?

To be a healer means to first realize it within yourself. A good healer understands awareness. She is aware that we each are unique, that there is no right or wrong, but  rather a myriad of stars each with their own body or being. She respects these stars as being all that they are and treasures each one of them no matter how far away they are from her.
She is balanced physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually within herself and fosters the balance of others through her example. When she sees something out of balance she uses her own balance like a gyroscope to nurture balance in other things, be that nature or weather or seasons or plants or animals or people. She acts as a balancing force because she herself is balanced.
He is aware of his own powers and connection to Creator and fosters that connection at every minute of his life. All good work comes from the inside out. And when he is a bright brilliant light within himself he shines that light for all to see and come and warm themselves in that healing light. In this he begins to heal the Universe!
As you become who you truly are, a unique beautiful star, your light will shine ever so brightly over all of us. Embrace the beauty of each star you see. There are no good stars and bad stars. No judgment is necessary. Just behold, embrace and heal with your love.

Day 20: Your Beliefs Are Not My Beliefs

I believe what I believe. I believe many things. These beliefs started when I was born. First, my parents gave me beliefs. Don't sleep in your clothes, stay clean, don't crawl out your bedroom window or we will kick your butt. And as I got a bit older they started using fear beliefs so they could control me. If I don't clean my room I will be punished. If I don't do my homework I will not be able to watch TV. So on. And then school gave me beliefs. You must go to school. You must go through 12 grades. And fear beliefs became more prevalent for me. I must get good grades or I will be held back. I must be quiet or I will be sent to the principal's office. I must not pass notes or I will get detention. By the time I finished school almost all my beliefs were given to me by parents, school and religion. Give your money to the church or go to hell. You are a sinful ingrate. But at the same time, we begin to wonder what we really believe. It’s a natural thing to challenge beliefs given to us by others.

Then I got a job. And more beliefs were given to me, very much based on fear. I can't be late or I will lose my job. And culture and government and society gave me fear beliefs as well. Pay your taxes or you will go to jail. Get a car. Get insurance. Get more bills. Pay your bills or go to jail. Wow! Getting a bit overwhelming here! And now you have the picture of Joe America!A whole bunch of beliefs given by other people that are making Joe feel terrible and he isn't even taking the time to look at what he believes and to see if those beliefs are even working for him!

Many sages throughout history have told us that what we believe creates our reality. If we believe that elevators are dangerous, we cannot ride in an elevator. If we believe that we are less than wonderful, then we are less than wonderful. If we believe that old religious belief that we are going to hell, then we are going to hell. We create our reality with what we believe. And if you look at how people live you can actually sometimes see what they believe. Take the homeless person on the street. Look at their reality. They may honestly believe they cannot have a home. And so they don't. You can stop here and think of other examples.
Now each person has their own set of beliefs. And they base their judgments on their beliefs. But that has nothing to do with your belief system.

It is a little microcosm, a person’s beliefs create his or her reality, create his or her judgments, create his or her choices based on beliefs.

Well, that homeless person may be convinced that he cannot have a home but I am not convinced of that. So his belief system does not work for me. And that's OK. That's called the right to choose, free will choice. Even if it is messed up, it is still his free will choice. But what if he told me that I cannot have a home because he believes he can't have a home so no one should have a home. How valid is that judgment for me? Not very valid at all. I don't believe what he believes. And how valid is any judgment he makes about me? Not very valid at all, as he is judging from his own belief system, not mine. And how valid is my judgment of him? Not very valid at all, because I would be judging him based on my beliefs which may or may not be his. So what is the point of judging someone else? There is none. And what is the point of being affected by someone else's judgment of you? None. It is not based on what you believe so it has little to no bearing on you. So relax!

Understand that people walk around within their own microcosm; their own belief system, their own reality. We are like a million unique snowflakes. The good thing is that you can change your reality by changing what you believe.
I can help you eliminate negative beliefs and end the struggle in your life if you want.  I have been doing this work for over 40 years. Just email me at shaman@shamanelder.com

Day 17: The Hunter in the Forest

Here is a truth for you to consider. When you finally see your mission on this earth and you decide to stand up and do it, to shine your light, there will always be those who hate the Light and who will try to put it out. Guaranteed.

I teach you Traditional Shamanism using the allegory of the hunter in the forest. He knows his skills, he uses his power, his awareness, his balance, his good aim, his heightened senses, his patience, his knowledge of game, all his skills to achieve his mission which is to feed his people. And he knows that there is danger in the forest. He knows that if he does not remain aware and balanced he could fall out of the tree and be killed by a bear or moose. The danger is there for all of us. But it is not so dangerous that a skilled and practiced hunter should withhold food from his people because he is afraid of the bear!

The bear is as natural to the forest as the hunter. They both belong in the forest and they both are a danger to each other. Everything has danger. It is dangerous to breathe, all the pollution in the air but more dangerous not to breathe, methinks! LOL!

You saw your mission and agreed to it before you ever set foot on this planet. You saw that you would have all the abilities and tools and opportunities to accomplish this mission. In fact you saw that if you just be impeccable as a human being you have already accomplished this mission, fete accompli! So being born into this mission is like being put into a tree stand in the forest. Be impeccable and you will not fail. Do not fear.
Please ask me anything. I offer free counseling to anyone by email to shaman@shamanelder.com
