Day 4: Sacred Space

Some people by Sacred Space mean opening a medicine wheel and leaving it open in their living space or work space. The medicine wheel is a prayer. So to leave a wheel open is like getting to the middle of prayer and then changing the subject! Not very good intention methinks.

Some people by Sacred Space mean building an altar and making a location that has energy through the items they place there.

But when I think of Sacred Space I think of you! You are a sacred space, a big one if you will recognize it. And you get to bring your sacred space everywhere you go. And you offer your sacred space to others when you are in their presence whether they feel it or not. You are the church, you are the holy ground, you are the embodiment of energy and when you come into contact with other people they are also in contact with this energy. So it is your job to bring the energy of Creator into you and shine it through you wherever you are. You, yourself create a Sacred space wherever you are. Do you doubt it? Then think about it some more. Really realize it.

Those that need to create a Sacred Space by building something or doing some kind of energy work are in my opinion not confident within themselves and their own power to realize that they themselves are the most sacred space.

Now sometimes I feel that I need to wear a certain kind of stone to balance out my Sacred Space when I am feeling sick or tired or just out of balance in some way, or when I am going into a certain situation outside the home, visiting a hospital for example, I take a green stone with me to enhance the heading qualities of my sacred space. Here is where awareness and balance again play such an important part in a Shaman's work. Intent too. What is your intention for your sacred space? And what are you doing to your sacred space when you are in a "poor little me" attitude?
Realizing that you are Sacred Space and that you share this sacred space with every other person on the planet, yes, this is a way to experience daily activity from a higher perspective!

Day 3: Knowing Myself

I am an old woman now. And here is something I know in my heart to be true. When we are true to ourselves and being who we truly are, there are many sources of confirmation from outside sources, including events in the physical world, interactions with people who are meant to confirm our truth for us, our path is bright and we are able to walk it easily, spirit guides and teachers come to us and we are able to receive their wisdom fully and easily. When we are fooling ourselves we get none of this.

I work with many people counseling them and this is a fact. It is those people who are deluding themselves who will tell you they cannot find their guides; that no one is teaching them, that they cannot connect to Source.

Day 2: Fear - 100 Days Walk With a Traditional Shaman

http://www.shamanelder.com/
When a person decides to go ahead and reconnect their calling to be a shaman, there are fears that need to be addressed and cleared up. These fears are mostly founded in things that were given to us from outside sources. These things are the same things that make us doubt our calling to Shamanism. Every person who has taken up their path as a shaman in this lifetime must look at all the things that prevented him or her from being a shaman and heal them. All shamans are wounded healers. I think all true healers are wounded healers. How can we recognize healing if we have never experienced it? How can we offer healing if we have never been healed ourselves? And so, all shamans must first heal themselves.

Dark fears are not something I keep acquiring. I look at those dark fears and eliminate them all once and for all. The only thing to fear is fear itself. Fear is a free will choice. Let’s learn about free will choices and learn to make good choices for ourselves. We must eliminate the outside thought forms that prevent us from making the best free will choices we can make for ourselves today. This work must be done in order to practice shamanism fully.
This is now part of the course I created from what my own family lineage taught and practiced. Everything I teach comes from my own experiences. I do not teach anything that I have not experienced myself. I do not ask others to simply believe as I believe or to take my word for anything. I set up experiences in this course for the student to have their own experience, to find out what they believe and to make choices for themselves. I could not feel right about offering anything less in my course. I so value free will choice.

The House of a Traditional Shaman

The House of a Traditional Shaman.

Day 1: I need to slow down today.

Come Walk with A Shaman
I have been rushing around so much this holiday season, I would like to slow down now and take it easy. So to begin I need to change my speedometer to say 10 instead of 35. To do that, I begin to pay attention to this moment now. I notice the coolness of the air on my cheek. I notice the feel of my clothes on my skin. I focus on what I am doing now and do it with awareness and love. I can still get everything done in a day whether I speed long at 60 mph or be a steady turtle moving at 10 mph. The difference is that the turtle can notice things that go by too fast for the hare. So I want to focus on teh things around me, on the things I am doing. This will automatically slow my day down to a gentle delightful pace. You see, the change happens in the way I approach this day, not in what this day contains. The change is in my deliberate focus on this moment now, on what I am doing now. on what I am thinking now. That is how to make my day slow down so that I can enjoy it so much more.
And if I am still having trouble focusing on this moment now I can always take an attitude of gratitude and be thankful for everything around me. That is another way to focus on this now moment and all teh blessings it contains that I should give thanks for in my life. If I take the time to see what gifts and blessings I have in this moment now I can automatically slow down and have a happier more peaceful , gentler day.
This is the way of the Traditional Shaman.
