The Value of a Mentor

The treasures gathered in dreams are useless, because dreams vanish in teh morning. The dreaming of cakes will not satisfy hunger or keep a starving man alive. If you practice incorrectly you are only building empty wishes on illusion.
A teacher is essential to learning anything.

"Not knowing what a Master can represent for them, some disciples do not know how to behave towards him. So they prevent him from being as useful to them as he could be and would like to be, thus hindering their own development. It is up to the disciple to discover how to relate to the Master, how to regard him and behave towards him. It is not for the Master to make recommendations on the matter.
A true Master merely gives his teaching and allows his disciples freedom. He will never say, ‘You must respect me, admire me, obey me…’ Never. Firstly, because there is no point: you can never really impose respect, admiration or obedience. Then, because the Master does not need those things: he has other sources of joy and satisfaction. It is up to the disciples, for their own evolution, to find the best way to be in relation to their Master, whether he is still on earth or in the next world."

Some students do not know how to behave with their teachers because they do not realize what that teacher can represent for them. In this way the student might prevent the teacher from being as useful as that teacher could be and would like to be. And in this way the student can hinder his or her own progress. It is up to the student to figure out how to relate to the teacher and how to behave. It is not up to the teacher to explain that relationship to the student.

 Why?

A true teacher just offers the teachings and respects the free will of the student. A true teacher would never say, "you must respect me, honor me, obey me." The true teacher doesn't need these things anyway. The true teacher has other sources of joy and satisfaction. It is up to the student to find the best way to be in relationship with the teacher, for that student's own evolution in spiritual growth.

The five senses atrophy in those who lead an ordinary, mundane life. Those with a spiritual outlook, on the other hand, can sense the nuances and subtleties of beings and things. Not only are they not deprived of any joys, they actually increase the pleasures they are able to experience and heighten their quality.

How My Ancestors Practiced Shamanism

Lets look at how my ancestors practiced Shamanism. In my tradition, in the ancient days, the Shaman was actually hired by a tribe. He was a free agent and could go from group to group as needed. He often worked with many isolated groups of people within a 500 mile or more range geographically. They would send runners to fetch him when something was needed in the group. He would live with one group for months or years at a time. The tribes would pay him for his services by giving him food and shelter and clothes and other amenities and he would have as much as the chief of the group had because he was so valuable to that group as doctor, priest, counselor, weatherman, midwife, surgeon, forecaster, peacekeeper and so much more. But if he did not produce… If he could not do what he promised, (“ it is what you do that defines you”; fourth truth in traditional shamanism) they would throw him out with nothing, not even his clothes! And odds were that the next group were not going to take in a frozen starving shaman either!

This prevented just anybody from saying that they were a shaman. In fact, people were afraid to even think of pretending to be a shaman because if they could not do what they said, they were likely to die or be killed. The very fact that my Shaman grandmother was able to teach me the ways of my ancestors should prove to you that my ancestors were very powerful Shamans!

Today, lots of people call themselves shamans because there is no consequence to lying. In fact, more than 70% of the earth’s population now believe it is ok to lie to anyone about anything at anytime. So people pay “wanna be” shamans who can do nothing and only talk a big talk, lie.  I wish we could go back to the old ways of “do what you say you do”. When we can all live up to that truth and do what we define ourselves to be, the world will be a better, more honest place.

Fiery signs that cannot be spoken, have you seen them yet?

People have long sharpened their wills,
but not attained the level of consciousness that gives the will full authority to act.
In my teachings, fiery signs embodying things that can not be spoken in words, but can only be felt, will flash out for you.
This is a great treasure!
As we come to the edge of the battlefield and begin to hear the drums of the enemy marching ever towards us - the time to play with entertaining toys is done, and people run to the nearest master to learn how to wield a sword and shield to save their own lives. Now is the time to learn. Here is the place. Let me teach you. www.shamanelder.com

What Are You Thinking?

Awareness and deliberate Intention.
Are you aware of what you are thinking? Are you aware that your thoughts are creating things in your lives and in the lives of other people? Are you are that your thoughts are like arrows of energy that fly out into the universe on an elliptical pattern and come back around flying through the lives of so many millions of people before that arrow comes back to hit your life? Some arrows have elliptical orbits that last for years. Some have orbits that only take seconds but they all come back to affect you directly. A simple thought of displeasure creates myriads of other thoughts of displeasure. A thought of kindness creates a myriad of other thoughts of kindness. Are you aware of what you are putting out into to the world to affect you and others?

How deliberately then should you be choosing your every thought? Perhaps it’s time to understand that you think too much! I teach you to become an observer. That is the best use of your mind. To take in information and learn what you can learn, to perceive the Essence of Creator here which is what you came here to do; not to think, not to create danger and illness with your errant thoughts. Thoughts are not the big wonders of your life. Sure, you were taught that thinking is important and for the ordinary man who judges himself by what he can create I suspect creating thoughts is a major past time for that person. But now that you realize that all his or her thoughts are also affecting your life and your reality and the world at large and Mother Earth and the whole universe, you might now wish that people would think less. Isn’t this why the Buddhists practice no thought meditation so very much? At least they are trying to not influence the universe in a negative way.

What do you intend? Are you aware of what you intend? You should be at every moment! How many intentions do you have? Probably too many. What is an intention? It is a thought backed with emotion. Emotion is the power or energy that propels the arrow of intention.  It is your emotional feeling about that thought that makes that though so powerful. Do you control your feelings? Or do you let your feelings run your life? Is everything in your life about “how does this thought make me feel emotionally?” If this is how you run your life I guarantee you that you are not happy. Let me show you another way to run your life as captain of your ship, as the authority figure for your own life in my Shaman Apprenticeship 101 Course.  Let me show you how my ancestors ran their lives and become powerful and effective healers able to do miracles.

Those Who Don't Walk Get Eaten.

What kinds of goals do people have today? Perhaps to have a family or a career or a car and house with all the modern conveniences. For a lot of people, that is enough. They say they are satisfied with this mediocre existence. They don't enhance their lives with anything other than physical pleasures, with anything more essential, more powerful. They simply stagnate.

When will people realize the dangers that they put themselves in with they live their lives unaware of what else is here beyond just the physical? There are all kinds of physical and psychological dangers lying in wait, looking for ways to sneak in and bite into people and eat away at them.  Have you ever felt there were other things beyond the physical threatening your life? I bet you have! And what have you done to learn about those dangers?

How sad that people do not realize that here is a whole other 95% here that cannot be perceived with one's outer senses but that very much does effect therm physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This is what I teach you about in the course I offer as I learned it from my own Shaman teachers in my own family. Do not let yourself be put to sleep and chloroformed by petty entertainments. The time is coming when the need to survive and negotiate through the dangers will be more important to you than a house or car. Will you be ready for that?
