Who Makes You Happy?
Aho
I am going to teach you something that your mother never taught you. She taught you, as a child, that you were somehow responsible for making her happy. She used her happiness level to manipulate you into doing what she wanted you to do. She put you responsible for making her happy. She said if you do this and this and don’t do that I will be happy with you and love you. In this way she taught you that other people can make you feel happy or sad etc. But this was a tactic she used artificially to make you obedient to her, both to keep you safe from danger and also to benefit her life directly. Can you look back on your childhood, on just about everyone’s childhood and see that parents do use this idea of making mommy and daddy happy to control their children?
You choose if you are going to feel happy or sad. Or angry or frustrated or depressed or excited. Nobody on this planet can MAKE you feel sad or happy. You choose how you are going to feel at any given moment.
These are mental logical facts I am telling you here that apply to everyone.
You cannot make me happy if I don’t choose to be happy.
You can try to make me happy by making funny faces or telling jokes or giving me things but until I decide to be happy? Nobody can make me happy.
You cannot make anybody feel a certain way.
You are not in charge of how I choose to feel.
That is my free will right to feel good or bad or upset or mad.
You cannot change that.
Neither can anyone make you feel angry or upset or happy or free.
You choose for yourself how you are going to feel from moment to moment.
I am showing you that you are in charge of you. Right now. Today.
YOU are in control of your own thoughts and feelings, nobody else.
Teach this to your children and change the world.

Mediumship or Shamanism?
When
mediums are asked to project themselves up to the higher realms of the
invisible world to respond to questions of a spiritual order, most of the time
they are not able to do so: their clairvoyance is always limited more or less
to the regions of the astral plane.
Well, clairvoyance that does not serve to elevate people- is of no interest to shaman practitioner students. This is why they do not focus on it. it is better to close the eyes as they cross those astral plane regions where all kinds of fantasy and intrusive influences can be found.
True Shamans do not seek to develop mediumistic faculties. They work only to purify themselves, to grow in wisdom, love and self-mastery, so that they can project themselves as high as possible towards the higher spiritual planes inwardly. Once they reach this peak, the substance of the Shaman's being is so refined it is aligned with the very quintessence of the universal Essence of Creator. This quintessence, in which everything is recorded, enables them to receive, see and feel whatever they wish to know. And so their work allows them to acquire not only power but clairvoyance as well.

Feast or Famine- Your Choice
The teacher does not prepare a feast for her students. She shows them the place in the forest where delicious berries may be gathered and enjoyed. The teacher regrets it if the students choose to buy berries from a grocery store. The teacher directs your discovery but allows you to strive for the best path.

Remember the Roots
Many people who
choose to embrace the spiritual life try to just aim for the Light and try to
neglect the darkness that is also part of life. The higher that one goes in
spiritual consciousness , the deeper they must descend into their subconscious and
develop that within themselves as well.
People believe that wanting to work for
the Light, to be wise and fair and impartial is enough to create spiritual growth.
Unfortunately that is not the case. Look at a tree; the higher the branches
reach, the deeper go the roots as well. It is a system of balance, of compensation-
and you can’t have one without the other. Every person on a spiritual path must
be careful to maintain a balance between the conscious and the subconscious.
This is what I teach people to do.

The Value of a Mentor
The treasures gathered in dreams are useless, because dreams vanish in teh morning. The dreaming of cakes will not satisfy hunger or keep a starving man alive. If you practice incorrectly you are only building empty wishes on illusion.
A teacher is essential to learning anything.
"Not knowing what a Master can represent for them, some disciples do not know how to behave towards him. So they prevent him from being as useful to them as he could be and would like to be, thus hindering their own development. It is up to the disciple to discover how to relate to the Master, how to regard him and behave towards him. It is not for the Master to make recommendations on the matter.
A true Master merely gives his teaching and allows his disciples freedom. He will never say, ‘You must respect me, admire me, obey me…’ Never. Firstly, because there is no point: you can never really impose respect, admiration or obedience. Then, because the Master does not need those things: he has other sources of joy and satisfaction. It is up to the disciples, for their own evolution, to find the best way to be in relation to their Master, whether he is still on earth or in the next world."
Some students do not know how to behave with their teachers because they do not realize what that teacher can represent for them. In this way the student might prevent the teacher from being as useful as that teacher could be and would like to be. And in this way the student can hinder his or her own progress. It is up to the student to figure out how to relate to the teacher and how to behave. It is not up to the teacher to explain that relationship to the student.

It is up to the student to figure out how to relate to the teacher and how to behave. It is not up to the teacher to explain that relationship to the student.
Why?
A true teacher just offers the teachings and respects the free will of the student. A true teacher would never say, "you must respect me, honor me, obey me." The true teacher doesn't need these things anyway. The true teacher has other sources of joy and satisfaction. It is up to the student to find the best way to be in relationship with the teacher, for that student's own evolution in spiritual growth.
The five senses atrophy in those who lead an ordinary, mundane life. Those with a spiritual outlook, on the other hand, can sense the nuances and subtleties of beings and things. Not only are they not deprived of any joys, they actually increase the pleasures they are able to experience and heighten their quality.
Please see the encouragement that is always offered in every teaching I give. I mentor people who wish to learn Traditional Shamanism, the path I have been walking for almost 60 years now. To learn more go here www.shamanelder.com
