Day 75 Personal Power

What does personal power have to do with this? Everything. Who do you give your power to? When you give in to someone else's wishes, desires or demands, when you allow someone else to control you in any way, when you say, feed me, heal me, support me emotionally, mentally or physically. You are giving your power away.
Some people find it easier to give their power away than to own their own power. It may feel easier to say feed me, heal me, support me than to do it yourself. Heck, most people do this. And so we have codependency and unhappy relationships. The truth is, no one can feed you, heal you or support you in the manner that you can for yourself. Why? Because no one loves you as much as you love yourself. And that is the way it should be. You know the commandment "Love the Lord Thy God with all thy heart and love others as you love yourself"? You are supposed to love yourself at least as much as you love others. But we don't love ourselves very much do we! In fact we love everybody else far more than we love ourselves. And because we don't love ourselves very much we let other people take over where we should be in control. We feed the needs and desires of other people and put our own on the back burner. And after a while we start to resent those people we are feeding because we are starving and we think that it is their fault. But it is not their fault.
Everyone is out there trying to get the best for themselves. Your kids are looking out for themselves. Your husband is trying to get what he needs. Your parents are trying to get what they need. And instead of you trying to get what you need, you are out there giving everybody what they need, what they ask for, what they desire. Guess what. They will get what they need whether you are the giver or not. The point is, who is getting you what you want?
If you need healing, you will find the very best and easiest to get healing, right inside you. If you need love, the very greatest and freest love is right inside you. If you need support, you can support yourself. If you need food, you know how to work for food. When you understand that loving yourself and caring for yourself is the only job you have, your life suddenly, and I do mean suddenly, becomes a joy to live! You are not responsible for Mom and Dad and Junior and hubby. You are only responsible for you! So much easier! And then you can start to really love yourself, to be kind to yourself, to care for your needs, your desires, your wishes. Believe me, no one else can really do it for you. They can try and you can ask but no one can do it like you can. And don't worry about hubby and junior. They will continue to take care of themselves. They may beg or plead because you turned off your easy access faucet but they will either turn on their own ever present Source and do it for themselves or they will find someone else they can leech off. They don't need to leech off you. It is not good for them anyway. They need to learn to love themselves too.
You know, this life is short. I would hate to see you leave without learning that you can love yourself and give yourself everything you need to be happy, absolutely joyous. Wouldn't you like to try it once before you go? Isn't that perhaps the lesson you are here to learn, the thing you came here to experience? Loving yourself

Day 74 What Is Traditional Shamanic Counseling?

I practice the ways of my own Shamanic family lineage just as my ancestors practiced thousands of years ago. This practice was handed down from Shaman Grandmother to Shaman granddaughter for generations and I was blessed to receive these teachings as I apprenticed with my own Shaman Grandmother. She chose me out of all her grandchildren to be the one of all on which she would impart these ancient practices. Today I am the last of my lineage and I feel that Traditional Shamanic healing and teaching are needed more today than ever. So I offer Shamanic Counseling for FREE to anyone who needs it. I live on donations from those people who have benefitted and choose to offer equal value exchange for their healing and also from Course tuitions for the courses I teach about Traditional Shamanism, the ways of my people.
When a person asks me for Shamanic Counseling we begin with lots of questions. It is important for the client to share as many of the facts and situation as possible with me. I am not going to violate anyone’s free will and barge into someone’s thoughts or feelings. Whatever that person chooses to share with me, is what I have to go on. But I also let myself meet with the client in the energetic planes spirit self to spirit self and  we sit together there in a good, safe, comforting, soothing way and look at the conflict or struggle they are having. I come into their reality and observe as the client shares with me what the conflict or situation is. I sit and watch as the client shows me how it feels and looks to him or her. I can see it then as the client sees it and then I look around in this reality of the client to see if I can spot a door that is not open, a window that has not been raised, a light switch that the client has not discovered. If I can find this new perspective I will share it with that client. I turn on a new light, open a new door, give the client a new option to solve his or her problem that the client had not been aware of before. I offer a new perspective, a new way to look at the issue and then the client has a new choice to choose from. The client then will decide if he or she wants to look out that window or walk through that door or turn on that light switch. But I think we all know how great it is to have someone else show us what we might not have been aware of, to give us new information that helps us make better choices, to show us perhaps the reasons why something is happening in our lives so that we can make better decisions and remove the suffering and struggle in our lives.
I do not change a person’s life; I give people the opportunity to change their own lives by showing them a new perspective or two. It actually empowers people and heals people.  If you feel that this kind of Shamanic counseling may benefit you or someone you love, feel free to have them send an email to shaman@shamanelder.com for a FREE Shaman Counseling session.  I do this because the Shamanic healing ways of my ancestors are powerful, effective and easy. I want to bring this special kind of healing to as many people as I can in the little time I have left in this world.  And if you are helped, perhaps you can support this work I do by sending a donation to make it possible for me to be here for other people as well. I cannot do this alone. But you can help; your choice.  Literally thousands of people have been helped and even physically healed through Traditional Shamanic Belief Counseling.
If you would like to learn the ways of my ancestors I do teach a course that contains over 20 tools and skills of my own people at www.shamanelder.com. You don’t have to become a Shaman to learn these tools to heal yourself and others.

Day 73 Why Do I Charge for Teaching

I wish I had some other income so I could just teach without charging, I truly do! I wish I was independently wealthy or was supported by a husband or trust fund, but I am not. That is not how it is supposed to be, anyway.
I never charge for healing, but think about it; if I put myself in a position where I cannot afford a loaf of bread, then I won't be able to teach, right? So in order to study with a teacher, you have to support that teacher so he or she can teach, right? Have you ever had a teacher in school who didn’t earn her living through your financial support?
As I told you, I have no other source of income. My students support me completely and actually that is the true Traditional way of Shamanism, to be supported completely according to the Shaman's own effectiveness as a Shaman. I obviously have very strong and true teachings if I can be supported solely by students. I obviously am an effective healer if I can be supported by the free will donations I receive from those who are healed. If I was not supported by my students and donations and I had to make a living working at Wendy’s, I would not be here to help so many people gain their healing or grow spiritually.
So by asking me to teach you for free, you are asking me to not have any bread, to not have a place where I can have a computer, to not afford internet, to not be able to teach and yet to not charge for teaching. Do you see how impossible it is?
There is a basic truth known to all Shamans and it says that effectiveness is the yardstick of ability. What that means is you can tell a good baker by his baked goods. You can tell a good gardener by the flowers he grows. You can tell a good Shaman by the healings and teachings she produces.
No matter who you study with, make sure that you can see the effectiveness of that person's ability. My effectiveness can be seen in the fact that my students support me because they are getting something of such value that they choose to support me. I would hope that what you would learn from me would be of such value to you that you would also choose to support me. You pay that carpenter for building your house. You pay that tutor who helps your children. You should see the value in supporting this teacher, too.
In my case, your donations and course fees make it possible for thousands of other people to find me and receive help because you make it possible for me to be here for them.  These people are at the end of their ropes. They have exhausted all other sources and have no more money to afford any more professionals and they write to me as their last hope.  And indeed, they DO receive their answers and their healing and their lives turn around and they are blessed simply through their contact with my guides and elders and ancestors who are with me here and miracles happen in their lives. Knowing that your donation makes this possible for thousands of people every year, doesn’t it make your heart feel good to know that you are part of their healing? Isn’t this a good cause to donate to? I cannot do this work without your donations and course fees. Sure, I can go work at Wendy’s but think of all the people who would no longer be able to reach me and work with me then.  I think it is right and fitting that I cannot do my work as a Traditional Shaman without your help and financial support! It takes a village to raise a child. This is one way you can help thousands of people and also help yourself.

Day 72 Freedom

Let me tell you about fear.
We are taught fear from birth. Our parents use fear to control us. If you have raised children yourself you know that you may have used fear to scare the kids into doing what you wanted them to do. Then fear is the controller in school. You will be punished if you do not do things the way they want, stay after school, detention, principal's office, failing grades, its all about fear.
So by adulthood, we are totally controlled by fear and it is the biggest part of our lives. Then we go to work. We learn to fear coming in late, displeasing the boss, not doing a super job every day, taking too long a lunch break, all kinds of things. So fear dominates our work life. Then we get married. And we use fear to control each other. “I won't love you if you ....( displease) me in any way.” “Get that supper on the table in time or I will be angry.” “Mow that lawn or I will shame you to the neighbors.” More, more, more. Fear of anger becomes the control in a relationship many times.
Wow! We are fear based people aren't we! How sad! At what point do we get to breathe??? No wonder we are unhappy. What a crumby way to live!
And who has time now to unravel 30 or 40 years of fear based thinking? It seems easier to take Prozac than to go to a counselor and work on the psychological factors for months or years. It seems easier to medicate than to break the chain. And it takes breaking the chain to find freedom, happiness and power.
What would you like to do? How precious is your freedom to you? How badly do you want to be happy? How much is your personal power worth to you?
Taking my course in Traditional Shamanism requires one to accept his or her own power. It teaches you where it is and shows the way. The course teaches you how to be a hunter, a warrior and work with the tools that have been given to you already but that you are afraid to use (because everybody told you not to). Why did they say that? Because, if you learn to use your God given tools they will no longer be able to control you with fear.
When we truly take back our power, no person can have power over us again.
When we truly take back our power, we become responsible for everything that happens to us. We can make wonderful things happen in our lives. We are no longer under the influence of other people’s poor plans for our lives.
Who knows you better than you? Why do you let others decide what is best for you? Only you know what is best for you. Step up and make your choices, take responsibility for your choices and watch those fear based controllers run for the hills. Those who were controlling you will leave. Why should they stay if they can't touch you anymore! Believe me it a very freeing feeling and all it take is a choice, a different way of living.

Traditional Shamanism teaches you to reclaim your power; that you are strong and yes, you do create your own reality. Traditional Shamanism also expects you to accept responsibility for yourself and for your actions and consequences. But that is not as bad as sitting back saying, "Well, they made me do this." What is that??! It is wonderful to be in charge of your own life! It is great to know that whatever you want in life is yours with the proper knowledge, the sincere intent and the correct emotional control. Traditional Shamanism gives you the skills. It is a great thing!
Should you fear studying Traditional Shamanism? Fear is a choice you can make. The other choice is freedom. Let someone control you, fear; or take control of yourself, freedom. My course in Traditional Shamanism will teach you how to take control of yourself and experience the freedom to have anything you really want out of life.

Day 71 A Healing Release Visualization For You to Try

It is a holy time in your life today. Let’s take the time to relish in this holiness right now for a few minutes. Just imagine that you are going to visit a huge cathedral, a place of holiness. Picture yourself walking into the big darkened cathedral when no one else is there. The doors are huge and solid and move slowly like old men, You peer into the darkness and first are greeted by the stained glass windows shining a rainbow of color on the darkened pews. You peer into the distance and see the white cloth on the alter and the white lilies in vases gracing the altar behind. You move up the huge empty aisle and find a place to sit in one of the massive wooden ornately carved pews.

It smells like a heavy incense, perhaps frankincense, left over from a ceremony earlier in the day. The sun is bright outside but the cathedral is dark except for the windows brightly shining down from above. There are 10 windows on each side of the church along the pews working back from the altar. You take the time to look at the windows, to make out the scenes and the people represented there. What do you see?

The organist has arrived in the loft and begins to practice the music for next Sunday. She plays in soft notes and obviously knows the music well enough to not need a practice. Perhaps she is playing just for you. Can you hear the music? Can you make out the hymn she is playing?

Again you smell the incense and wish that there were more. You would like someone to light some more as it barely touches your nose but smells so sweet!

You look again at the altar, white linen and white lilies all around in beautiful golden urns. There is a cross there but without a figure of Christ on it. It is a symbol of the resurrection rather than of the crucifixion. A symbol of hope and peace and you remember the story of Christ’s resurrection and the women who were shocked when his body was not found. Was it true? Was it a story?

You look up above the altar and see a beautiful large round stained glass window with a picture of a descending dove on it! It is gorgeous and the dove fills this 12 foot in diameter stained glass artwork with colors of white and blue and gold. The white and blue shower down on the altar and now you see the myriad of colors present on the white linen tablecloth.

I invite you now to release something in your life; something that may have been hanging over you, dragging you down; something you are still holding on to and really don't know why; something from your past that you can't seem to forge; some responsibility that you should not be yours but that you have accepted for too long now; even a negative judgment that you know is not true.

Find that paper lying on the pew next to you. It is an offering envelope and there is a pencil there by it. It says "Make an offering. $1.00, $5.00, $10.00. Other"

Under “other” write your intention, write what you want to release. Take just a moment and write that down now. Read that intention back to yourself out loud.

Now get up from the pew and walk all the way down the huge long aisle to the altar. As you walk, it reminds you a wedding, a bride walking towards her groom. What an awesome church to have a wedding in! Very impressive indeed! There is no one watching you, no one around, just you and the organist practicing, unaware of your presence.

Walk up the three steps to the altar table and lay your offering envelope down there. Stop for a moment to think about what you are doing. Ask Spirit to take this offering, to release this issue, give it to God, to Spirit, to the Universe, to the One, to the I Am That I AM. Give it away.

Feel the release. See the lilies there in the golden vase right beside you on either side of the altar? Take a lily. Pick one out of the vase and fell the long green stem and the smooth whiteness and put it to your nose and breath in the smell of Easter, the smell of spring, the smell of release and newness. Take it with you as you return to your seat.

Look again at the altar in the distance; in the darkness; in the light of the stained glass picture of the dove descending. You can't see your paper on the altar from here. It is gone.

Feel the release. Feel the lightness of being that surrounds you. A smile creeps over your lips. You don't know why you are smiling but you are. You can't help it. Say goodbye to the descending dove. Walk out through the big heavy wooden doors.

At first it is hard to see due to the strong sunshine of the day. But then you can see the steps leading down into the street and the people walking by on their way to work or school or home. Go join them in your day, your life.

All Blessings are yours!

Day 70 More About the Course I Offer

You know, when I was called to teach Traditional Shamanism I I was not in a place where I could invite a student to come and live with me for 6 months or a year as I had done with the Shamans of the Yaquis or the healers of southern Russia. Not many students have the time or money to travel the world as I did studying first hand from the True Indigenous Shamans.
So how could I make the teachings available to the most people for the least money? People don't have time for anything today, much less time to practice and study Traditional Shamanism. Yet that is truly what it takes. I was "given" 18 lessons with experiences and exercises that I could offer online. If the student does the work throughout the week and keeps a journal daily, remarkable things begin to happen. The first thing everyone finds is that their own guide or elder will appear and be available for teaching. Actually by making the choice to take this course, you are giving permission to your guides and elders to come to you.
As you study the course, the first thing you learn is balancing your bodies. By balancing your physical, mental and emotional body you create a harmony where you can hear your guides more clearly, where you can get assistance and operate from that assistance. You will have dreams that may have meanings to write in your journal. Experiences will start to be seen from a new perspective. As you study medicine wheels and begin using them to send up your prayers and intentions they will have a new feel to them and with the right intention which we discuss in length you will be manifesting your intentions more quickly.
Then we study the aspects of soul retrieval, soul extraction and healing all the while working on ourselves and reaching that place where we are ready to do the work. Intention and emotion are fully explored and their interrelatedness. In the last three lessons we use visualization to show you a place that you have already created for yourself which contains tools you have gathered through many lifetimes;  Akashic records are there, tomes and staffs and power symbols and more are there for you to re-member and to use again freely. And we prepare you to journey from this place into the Inner Worlds. You can start this correspondence course today at www.shamanelder.com
But I teach you individually because everyone is unique. We develop a working relationship through countless emails together and I walk with you down your own path and I stand with you in your own reality because it is the only way to really learn these ancient practices.  I hold a net of safety for you until you get strong enough to hold that net yourself. And you will progress at your own pace and that is why it is called an apprenticeship.  I welcome you to email me at shaman@shamanelder.com with any questions or to begin the course today by clicking on the PayPal button at www.shamanelder.com
Please visit my site at www.shamanelder.com and enjoy the myriad of teachings and blessings you will find there.

Day 69 Why Do I Teach Traditional Shamanism

You are being offered this course to learn Traditional Shamanism. And why was this course given to me to offer to those who seek it? Because, for every dis-ease on this planet there is also a cure. The yin and the yang, the balance in all things is a universal law. And some of the cures are contained only in traditional shamanic healing methods. But Traditional Shamanism is being wiped out by overpopulation, by commerce encroaching on indigenous tribes and the cancerous deterioration of Traditional Shamanism in the name of Christianity over the last 600 years. Traditional Shamanism is dying. Yes, there are many people on this planet today who have been Shamans in previous lifetimes or have some heritage or lineage to it today.
I believe that once a Shaman, always a Shaman. When, in any lifetime, we make the commitment to walk the path of the Shaman,  that commitment comes with us from lifetime to life time. And I know this is true because there are many people out here today who are suffering from physical, mental and emotional pains because they are not following their path as Traditional Shamans. They find me. There is no one else to find out here who is sincere and actually trying to help them re-member their individual tools and skills and abilities that are buried right within their own hearts. They only need someone to shine a light for them.
In the old days we would be reborn into a shamanic society. The shaman there would quickly recognize our shamanic talents and would raise us up to be the Shamans we were meant to be. Bu today we are born into societies that shun shamanism, that tell us to throw away any thought of being a Shaman, that having gifts and skills and tools of a Shaman is sick and disgusting and insane. Who is here to help these people? You cannot just throw away your commitment! Yet you cannot find anyone to help you! And until you do start walking your path, it hurts. You know this is true.
Is it any wonder why Creator called for this course to be created? And yes, every single person who comes to this course receives a life changing gift. If they were not meant to be Shamans they at least see that they are meant to be healers and they have learned some wonderful tools to be healers with. A totem, a medicine wheel , finding one's guides and teachers puts any healer on a wonderful path for growth and fulfillment and joy and healing. And if the student is meant to be a Traditional Shaman, has been a Shaman in a past life or has a lineage to it today, then the gifts they get from this course are astounding! Their whole life takes a direct turn towards their mission in life. The sails billow with a fresh wind and the rudder points true and it is a joy for me to watch them sailing proudly out into the world feeling capable and sure of who they are and ready to bring Traditional Shamanic healing into the world. And this happens for every single student without exception.
